Eilan, like the historic Pearl Brewery, is becoming a popular attraction for locals and travelers alike. What is Eilan, you ask? Eilan is many, many things, but in simple terms, Eilan is a new live/work/play community in San Antonio, the only one of its kind.
It is a Tuscan-style hotel and spa (the newest member of Mariott Autographs’ collection of boutique hotels), as well as a giant complex of elegant upscale condominiums, apartments and 200,000 square feet of office space, as well as commercial space, which is filling up fast.
Piatti’s, a fine dining Italian restaurant, just opened in October, and numerous other retail spaces are preparing to open as well, including Juicer Heroes, which offers fresh, organic and healthy fruit and vegetable juices; Mercato Generale, a cafe and convenience store; and Georgia's Keep, a new bar by the creators of San Antonio’s Blue Box and Green Lantern Bars, a barber shop and dry cleaners.

On top of all that, Eilan is positioning itself to be something of a wellness destination facility. They are host to the newest and fastest growing farmers market - Ripe - every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s a great excuse to walk the Promenade at Eilan and experience the vibrant and festive atmosphere of food, music, art and culture, as well as the fresh organic produce booths, food trucks and arts and crafts for kids.
The local farm vendors include Peeler Farms, Johnson’s Backyard Garden, Sol y Luna Baking Company - which makes some of the best pastries you’ll find in the city - and many more. Chef demonstrations take place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Sustenio. If you’re looking for a relaxed yet fun way to spend your Sunday afternoon in San Antonio, then this is it! You can enjoy a refreshing mimosa with brunch at Sustenio after taking in the sites.
Also, if you’re lucky enough to be here during the Wellness Fair, which piggybacks on the Ripe farmers market on a quarterly basis, you’ll also be able to enjoy a plethora of exciting and innovative products and services that offer healthy alternatives. These businesses share a common mission, which is to educate and empower people to transform their health and their lives.
Examples of vendors include Juicer Heroes, Natural Awakenings, ELEVATE L.I.F.E. Wellness, Big D's Fitness, I Run, Jamalina Holistic Health Institute, Total Mouth Fitness, InFit Womens/Mens Magazines, The Fit Kitchen, Costco, Whole Foods, Cultured Coconut, TBC Crossfit, Camp Gladiator, ELEVATE Beauty, Professional Center for Enhanced Performance, Usana, Roots of Wholeness, K R Gourmet Country Store and others. Vendors change each quarter.
The Wellness Fair is the brainchild of ELEVATE L.I.F.E. Wellness (a Juicer Heroes affiliated company) and Natural Awakenings Magazine. The next Wellness Fair will be in March. For more information on specific dates, go to ElevateLifeWellness.com
Eilan is also becoming a hub for 5k fundraising runs and bike rides. The Mustache Dash for men's health awareness is coming up in November, and the Wounded Warrior run is in December. Come out and join in on the fun! Eilan is waiting for you!
The Eilan Complex is located across 1-10 from The Rim at 17101 La Cantera Parkway.
