On the road again? One of the biggest challenges when you're away from home is sticking to your diet or simply eating food that you know is healthy. If you can't cook for yourself, what options are there?
If you're visiting San Antonio, then you're in luck! Zedric's caters not only to folks who lack the time to cook for themselves because they lead a busy lifestyle, but also to those who love good-tasting food that's good for you, too.
"Fit with flavor" is their tagline, and you'll see why!

Zedric's is independently owned by local chef Zach Lutton, who earned his culinary stripes at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park then went on to work at some of the most prestigious venues in San Antonio, including the Dominion Country Club, where he served as executive chef
It didn't take long for this savvy entrepreneur to find his niche. At the time, he was doing Crossfit and working out with several busy professionals who asked him if he could prepare healthy, yummy meals for them for the week. After a year of this, he decided it was time to expand, and Zedric's was born.
Lutton is always working on making Zedric's dishes healthier, while at the same time preserving the flavor. The entrees are made fresh daily and never frozen.
"We prepare low-fat meals with lots of veggies, lean meats and healthy carbs like brown rice and quinoa," says Lutton.
It should also be noted that Zedric's menu is 95% gluten-free, and they use local, grass-fed beef. Whenever possible, Lutton likes to source his produce and other ingredients locally, too.

One of the most popular entrees is the Turkey Ragu, a low-carb dish that features their signature, house-made marinara sauce paired with lean ground turkey; a small helping of Italian sausage; delicious mushrooms; fresh spinach; and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
The Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas is another favorite; it's their healthy twist on a Tex-Mex favorite, featuring shredded chicken breast, a savory combination of spices and sauteed yellow onion, all wrapped up in an organic corn tortilla and topped with house-made green chile sauce. It's served with cilantro-lime brown rice and sauteed zucchini, onions, tomatoes and mushrooms.
All of the dishes' ingredients and calories are listed on the to-go boxes.
Of course, if you're wanting to grab a quick bite between meetings, you can eat at Zedric's. But most people grab their meals for the week to go.
The Broadway location is only about 10 minutes from downtown, but they have another location near the Medical Center.
