For an inexpensive riverwalk hotel look no further than El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel. Open since 1962, "El Trop," as it's known, was actually the first hotel on San Antonio's famed riverwalk. This urban oasis offers 308 rooms inspired by the casual elegance of Acapulco's beach resorts. At one point, the hotel was hugely popular among Hollywood's elite, rock stars, trendsetters --- and a famous Texan who spent some time in the Oval Office. Located in the heart of the riverwalk's Museum Reach, they're just minutes from San Antonio's popular riverfront shopping and restaurants, the Alamo, the River Walk's South Bank, Market Square, HemisFair Park and the Tower of the Americas.

The Valencia is one of those places you go to make yourself feel luxurious and sophisticated. This modern and elegant hotel is one of the finest the San Antonio riverwalk has to offer. The European-style décor is sleek and beautiful, the staff are always on point and the amenities, such as the turn-down service, on-site spa and in-room dining make this hotel worth every penny. The hotel bar is popular among locals and is occasionally host to hip local art shows where you can drink fine wine and discover new and talented artists. The good news is the Valencia offers a little more solitude than most hotels located on the riverwalk. You can be sure to enjoy every moment of your stay here!
