Brewing craft beer is an art that began in basements and garages in the Pacific Northwest of the US over a decade ago. Micro beer, as it is known, broke conventional rules, with brewers creating heavily-hopped, fruity or specifically flavored beers that bucked normal brewing trends. Beer took on more of a fine wine approach, with everyone having a personal favorite, and the tastes were big, bold and far superior to what was on the commercial market.Rogue Ale craft beer — Photo courtesy of courtesy of Beervana
While the micro brewery trend went wild in the US and has since spread to Europe, Thailand has yet to experience the art of craft beer, which is about to change with the arrival of Beervana, a craft beer importer and distributor, who is putting bottles like Rogue Ale or Anderson Valley brews (both well known micro brewers in the US) into a select group of bars in Bangkok, as well as offering home delivery for salivating beer aficionados.craft beers from Beervana — Photo courtesy of courtesy of Beervana
At the moment, one can find Beervana craft beers at the Thong Lor Brew pub, or the nearby award winning eatery Soul Food Mahanakorn, as well as at the Mexican restaurant La Monita and a handful of other joints. Best of all, one can order beer directly for home delivery from Beervana and their Craft Beer Club with just a few clicks on their website.
