Birdseye view of Bangkok — Photo courtesy of Dave StamboulisBangkok is well known for its sky high rooftop bars featuring extensive panoramas of the mammoth metropolis, and Octave, the city's latest high riser, brings a fresh perspective to the crowd. Located on the 45th floor of the new Marriott Sukhumvit Hotel at Thong Lor, the four level bar is sure to wow as it gives views down Sukhumvit Road, the skytrain line, and incredible 360 open air panoramas that could only be rivaled by a private helicopter flight.
Octave Rooftop Bar and Lounge — Photo courtesy of Raquel MogadoFortunately for Octave, there are no other high rise towers too close to impede any of the views, and they are indeed spectacular from any level of the elegant new bar and lounge. Inspired by a New York apartment terrace, the swank downstairs is an elongated balcony with hip loveseat sofas and dining tables set out for patrons to enjoy tapas. Menu options include foie gras terrine, fresh oysters and king crab, mini wagyu beef burgers, and tuna tartar amongst others, all of which go well with the signature cocktails like Bangkok 57, which mixes champagne with saffron infused vodka, or Bloom Over the Roof, a lovely concoction of red berry tea infused vodka, fresh mint leaf, and elderflower syrup.

Needless to say, the wow factor is high, and the buzz you feel up here might not be just from the drinks.
