Getting here requires either a 2 hour bus journey from Bangkok's Northern Bus Terminal up near Chatuchak, or better yet, take the early morning fast train from Hualamphong, which gets to Ayutthaya in less than 90 minutes."

Besides its famous shopping and infamous nightlife Bangkok is also a place with plenty else to see and do. While certain sights like the Grand Palace and Wat Pho get a lion's share of the press, and of course are well worth a visit, there are also plenty of other off the beaten path locations such as the quaint little car free island in the Chao Phraya River of Koh Kret or the huge green space city escape of Bang Krachao. Despite the ultra modern look of most of Bangkok, visitors can still escape to the narrow lanes of Chinatown or take in the architectural wonders of old Thai teak at the less visited Vimanmek Mansion or Suan Pakkad Palace. Other fun for the whole family attractions include the well orchestrated displays at the Queen Saovabha Snake Farm or taking in a traditional floating market at Taling Chan. One thing is for certain, you wont be bored!
