The Grande Dame of all Bangkok hotels, the Mandarin Oriental oozes charm and is the perfect choice if you are looking for a romantic stay in Bangkok. The colonial architecture which attracted the likes of Somerset Maugham and Graham Greene, is still an eye-pleaser, and many weddings in Bangkok come here to do their photo sessions. Rooms and restaurants overlook the languid Chao Phraya River, there's a pampering spa, and even a private hand-crafted wooden ferry boat to take you from the hotel to the pier next to the BTS skytrain station. The service here is impeccable, and the restaurants, led by Bangkok's classiest French dining experience, Le Normandie, are some of the city's best. A stay here won't come cheap, but if you are looking for a classy and romantic stay, you'd be hard pressed to find anything to top this.

- Romantic Things to Do: "Take the hotel's free shuttle boat from the Saphan Taksin Pier, which is conveniently located right next to the BTS skytrain station of the same name."
- Best for Romantic Things to Do Because: For a classy, elegant, and romantic stay, the Mandarin Oriental continues to be at the top of the Bangkok list.
