About Pathumwan

Pathumwan pretty much offers the best of the best right in the heart of the city. Some of Bangkok's most upscale hotels like Hotel Muse are here, the international dining options such as Gaggan, are endless, and you can shop all day and night in spots like Siam Paragon.
See & Do
Pathumwan is mainly a great place to stay, eat, and shop in a most central location, and you will have to travel elsewhere if you want to see Bangkok's most famous temples and museums. However one highly worthwhile stop around here is the Queen Saovabha Snake Farm, highly informative and entertaining. Otherwise, enjoy the marine life at the Siam Ocean World and go shark diving with Planet Scuba there.
Eat
You are bedazzled with choice when it comes to eating in the Pathumwan area. Feeling like Japanese? How about stopping in to top end Zuma or Honmono for some sashimi. If it is Mexican you are after, try La Monita's, and if you want something experimental, try Indian or Thai molecular gastronomy at Gaggan and Sra Bua. For those who find this a bit too intellectual, how about some of Bangkok's best fried chicken at Soi Polo.
Party
Start your night off with a champagne sabering ritual at the fancy Regis Bar or else with a cocktail reliving the 1920's in the Speakeasy. Once you have a few pours in you, you'll be ready to dance and party all night, and the best spots to do this in Pathumwan are in the Spassos or CM2 discos, which feature live music and plenty of good cheer.
Stay
You are in the heart of Bangkok if you stay in Pathumwan, and have some of the most elegant options available, with spots such as the St. Regis, the Hansar, and the Muse leading the way in upscale, boutique, and sophisticated. Additionally, there are many serviced apartments located in this area, for those wishing to put down some long term roots.
Shop
Bangkok's best shopping is to be found in the Pathumwan district, whether it be the upscale refinery of the renowned Siam Paragon and Central World malls, the elegant Gaysorn Plaza, or else the wholesale mecca of Platinum Fashion Mall. You can easily while away a day if not a week in these cavernous spots, which feature movie theaters, bowling alleys, and enough restaurants to feed an army.
