About Bangkok Shopping
Shopping in Bangkok should almost be listed under Attractions, as there are so many places to go and things to buy, not to mention that it is actually a pleasant experience, most easily combined with lunch, a movie, or a plethora of other attractions that are on offer in the endlessly growing number of Bangkok malls. If you are feeling hot, a trip to any of the fancy designer malls is a great way to spend a day, as they are icily air conditioned, with gourmet food courts, cineplexes, and play/study rooms for the kids. Spots like Siam Paragon and Central World are already world famous, and new players like Terminal 21, which features themed floors from locations around the world, are easy to pass a lot of time in. For something a bit more Thai and traditional, the outdoor markets like Chatuchak and Talad Rot Fai Train Market are great places to pick up bargains on retro or vintage items, not to mention eat, drink, and people watch, and are full of vibrancy and color.
