Sukhumvit Road is the pulse of Bangkok. This long avenue, which actually runs all the way to Cambodia, is the hottest strip of real estate in tourist town, home to excellent hotels, top restaurants, bars and nightlife galore, as well as shopping, cinemas, public transport, and all else. You are guaranteed to spend a lot of time here during a Bangkok visit.

Eat
Sukhumvit is home to the widest selection of food choices in Bangkok. You can go French, Italian, Thai, or explore the Middle Eastern restaurants of Little Arabia. All of the upscale hotels have excellent restaurants, the shopping malls like Terminal 21 and Emporium have great food courts and eateries, and there are also plenty of cafes to escape the heat, such as Kiosk or the elegant Erawan Tea Room.
Party
Sukhumvit is synonymous with nightlife. Already famed for its naughty nightlife areas of Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy, it also is base for some of Bangkok's most upscale and happening clubs, like the legendary Q Bar and the luxurious Bed Supperclub. From VW camper van bars on the street to fancy hotel discos like Spassos, the party doesn't stop here.
Stay
Sleek, modern, and efficient sums up the new hotel scene on Sukhumvit. Designed for the young energetic professional, new kids on the block like Aloft or Ariyasom Villas set the standard here. Heck, even the youth hostels on Sukhumvit, like Bed Bangkok or Asok Montri, are looking boutique these days!
Shop
Fine upscale shopping is all the rage on Sukhumvit, headed by the city's newest designer mall, Terminal 21, packed with fashionable shops and restaurants. There is also the old time favorite, the Emporium, over looking Benjasiri Park and with a multiplex cinema to go along with all of its shopping and eating options.
