One of the world's greatest tenors made St John his home for over 40 years. In 1941, the talented Russian singer Ivan Jadan (Zhaden) fled his homeland during Stalin's reign. Upon his arrival in New York, Jadan continued to perform. But after a vacation to St John, he and his wife relocated to the island for their retirement.
