Ginnan is tucked away on Rosebury avenue, just down the road from Sadler's Wells ballet theatre, and opposite a big branch of the post office. It is on its way to Bloomsbury and Holborn, and just past Islington, so it doesn't get that much passing trade, and inside the restaurant can sometimes seem a little empty and corporate, but the rainbow sushi sets, and delicious spider crab rolls are fresh and delicious. This is not the cheapest sushi you'll eat in London, or anywhere, but it's not the most expensive either, and it's definitely worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood. Service is friendly and efficient, and miso soup and green tea will warm you while you wait for the rest of your meal to arrive. Proper linen napkins make this feel like a smart evening out and there is plenty of space for big groups. Because the restaurant is not always full, it's a perfect place to talk to your friends too and actually here them.
