Well situated at the corner of Chambers Street and South Bridge, Biblos was once a bookshop before it turned into a popular restaurant and bar in 1998. You'll find a good choice of wine, a selection of international beers on tap, and a cocktail menu that might prove too tempting. It is a modern, stylish bar with smartly dressed, attentive waiting staff, and plenty of seating. It's a good place to relax or to arrange to meet someone because it's very central and easy to find. The clientele is thoroughly mixed, so you'll find locals and tourists in here, but it lacks the identity and charm that comes with some of the older, rough around the edges, pubs in Edinburgh.
