You don't have to be a resident of Salt Lake City to know that the Grand America Hotel is one of the finest in the city. In fact, you don't even have to enter the building to know that this European-style boutique is an impressive establishment. AAA has just renewed this hotel's distinction as a Five-Diamond hotel - keeping it the only Five-Diamond lodging in all of Salt Lake City.
The Grand America occupies a large block in the southwestern corner of Downtown. Its 775 luxury guest rooms and suites range from 700 to 2,000-plus square feet of space. Each room, big and “small,” is appointed with the most excellent of décor, including Carrera Italian marble in the bathrooms, Richelieu furniture in all rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies, and English wool carpets.
Those staying at the hotel on business have access to the more than 75,000 square feet of “flexible meeting space,” as well as building-wide wireless internet, and other office amenities.
The hotel contains a variety of restaurants as well as special dining times such as Sunday brunch and afternoon tea. The Garden Cafe itself is an award-winning restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch. La Bonne Vie is a soul-satisfying patisserie, serving French pastries, Italian gelato, macarons, artisan chocolates, and espresso drinks. Of course, if you don't feel like leaving your room - or the swimming pool - it is never a problem to order meal from anywhere within the hotel.
