Even though many may think that Dolly's Bookstore is named after one of the two resident cats, it is actually named for its original owner, Dolly Makoff, who started it over 30 years ago, in 1975. There have actually been three different cats named Dolly, the current one still roaming amongst shoppers, but mostly sleeping, and friends with the other resident cat, Che. These two just add to the hominess of the store that offers books of all genres to all ages and also gifts such as toys, cards and stationery.
Like some of the town's locals, Dolly's is a mainstay. it has the cozy feeling of being a small town bookstore without feeling cramped. And the smells coming from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory will drive you crrazy in a good way. Because the two businesses share a door, you'll probably cave into temptation and indulge.
Dolly's is a charming independent bookstore with a staff who is well read and ready to assist.
