If you order from the menu, choose from home cooked delights like the "Militiaman Breakfast" (two eggs, Surry County bacon or sausage, potatoes or grits, and buttermilk biscuits) or the Jamestown (spiced French toast with custard cream, toasted pecans, maple syrup and fresh fruit). Second Street - An American Bistro


A casual atmosphere, good basic food, great beer selections, and free wireless Internet service – what more could you want to party or relax? The Trellis


The Trellis has become one of the best-known restaurants in Virginia. For over 20 years, patrons have been enjoying regional delicacies such as baby halibut, soft shell crabs and pigeon. If you are lucky, they will have the "Hot Pot" on the menu when you dine here. It is a combination of seafood, vegetables and beans and is a complete meal. But other items are also outstanding – local seafood is done right here! On a summer day, the outside raw bar is a great place to dine and people watch. There are lots of specials for lunch and dinner, and they are always excellent. This is a casual, fun place in Merchants Square.
