By now we've all learned that, with most things in life, there's more than initially meets the eye. This even rings true with attractive venues like the Alexis Hotel, a popular Seattle lodging destination located in the heart of downtown Seattle.
Sure, we've always appreciated the consistent comfort and charm offered by Kimpton's bounty of whimsical hotels, and the Alexis is no exception. We adore the Seattle-specific perks offered here, as well as their on-site cozy culinary gem: Bookstore Bar.
But we were recently wowed to learn of all the hidden treasures that await, tucked inside this particular building's four walls. Whether you're a fan of the fine arts or rockin' music, this venue has come up with creative ways for guests to exercise their minds, bodies and souls in a very Seattle-appropriate fashion.

For starters, book the hotel's spacious SAM (Seattle Art Museum) Suite or the EMP (Experience Music Project) Suite, both luxurious, beautifully curated spaces that celebrate a treasured city institution.
Among other themed suites (like the Canlis Glass Suite and Author's Suite), the Seattle Art Museum Suite allows guests to feel as though they’ve walked into their own private gallery. Beauty abounds in this one-bedroom option that showcases pieces from the Seattle Art Museum, hand-picked by curator Barbara Shaiman.
While a spacious dining table, powder room, exposed brick walls and skylights make this a natural, inviting space in which to practice the art of entertaining, the decadent Jacuzzi tub makes it an obvious choice for after-hours relaxing, too.
A recently launched package complements the French Impressionism exhibit currently on display at the Seattle Art Museum (located just across the street). Seattle serves as the last stop on this National Gallery tour, and Alexis makes it easy for guests to weave together an art-centric stay (when booking with code “MONET” through Jan. 11, 2016).
In addition to providing four-star accommodations in the Alexis’s artsiest space, this package grants guests two discounted VIP passes to SAM’s exhibit Intimate Impressionism from the National Gallery of Art, two "Bellwether" cocktails from the downstairs Bookstore Bar, a map with recommendations of nearby art galleries and half-off discounts on valet parking, too.

Music-lovers get equally jazzed about the Experience Music Project Suite, a roomy Executive Suite that transports residents through time with enticing images of the most important events in music history.
This comfortable room boasts just under 775 square feet of living space, a private bedroom and a view of Puget Sound that one former member of Nirvana counts among his favorite in the city.
Vibrant artwork and black-and-white photos enliven the rooms.

After stretching their culture muscles, guests can get physical in the hotel's dazzling two-room fitness center, which just underwent a major upgrade in spring 2015 after partnering with a local CrossFit gym.
The new, cutting-edge spaces include a Cardio Room – which features a treadmill; elliptical; stationary bike (with moveable arms); and plenty of space for stretching.
However, the second space – the Functional Fitness Room, the true piece de resistance – jazzes up the workout scene by offering a rock climbing wall, monkey bars, boxes, jump ropes and hula hoops.
In this fun-promoting adult playroom, guests will also find a touchscreen video monitor that can display demos and a large selection of pre-programmed workouts.
Need yet another reason to beeline it to this amazing property in upcoming months?
To celebrate the winter season (and the potential onslaught of visiting relatives), Kimpton’s Seattle hotels bring back the Save our Sanity package, which offers 20% off the best available rate and two glasses of Champagne from the adjoining hotel bar, plus holiday discounts from nearby Pacific Place shopping center.
This holiday-appropriate promo is valid for stays from Nov. 1, 2015, through Jan. 28, 2016.
