For 20-plus years, New Year's Eve fireworks launched from the 605-foot-tall Space Needle have illuminated the city. Now the festive fete inside is better than ever (tickets on sale now), thanks to the Needle's recent $100 million "spacelift" renovation that features the world's first and only revolving glass floor and completely unobstructed, floor-to-ceiling views of the twinkling Seattle skyline. For the first time ever, the New Year's at the Needle party spans two floors. Visitors taste, toast and dance the night away (from 9 p.m. till 1.am.) as they: groove to the beats of legendary DJ Marco Collins on the upper level, chill at the Absolut ice bar, relax on the Loupe with the Kate Voss Trio, and enjoy appetizers, desserts, two hosted drinks and a complimentary glass of champagne at midnight, when Seattle's most iconic fireworks display explodes above and below the festivities.
- Holiday Attractions: "There are great viewing spots around town from which to view the Space Needle show; try venues ranging from Ivar's Salmon House on the north edge of Lake Union to hot destination mbar in South Lake Union. Once again, Seattle institution Canlis hosts a top-notch extravaganza guests won't soon forget. Also, at the Space Needle all season long, sit in a glass sleigh next to Seattle's friendliest Santa (and get a free digital photo to commemorate your visit!)."
- Best for Holiday Attractions Because: New Year's Eve at the newly-transformed Space Needle means spectacular fireworks above Seattle's most iconic site and a happening party inside.
