If you're planning on visiting Dallas on a game day, then you know that tailgating beforehand is a must. Tailgating is simply part of the football culture in Texas and across the South, and it usually involves barbecue and beer. And what's better than that? A margarita with beer, of course! Commonly referred to as "beergaritas," these refreshing cocktails combine limeade, tequila and beer. While you can make your own, several Dallas restaurants feature beergaritas on their menus.
Making Your Own Beergarita
If you're going to be tailgating at the big game, then you can bring along your own supplies and make beergaritas yourself. You'll need 1 cup of frozen limeade concentrate, 1 cup of tequila, a half cup of orange liqueur, crushed ice and cold beer. Thaw out the frozen limeade beforehand, and then mix it with the tequila and orange liqueur. Pour the mixture into four glasses or cups filled with crushed ice, and then top off the cups with beer.
Dallas Restaurants that Serve Beergaritas
If you're in the mood for a beergarita, but don't want to make it yourself, visit one of many popular Dallas restaurants that serve them. Mariano's Hacienda, in the Lake Highlands neighborhood, serves up the Frozen Coronita Rita, a Top Shelf Margarita served with a Coronita beer upside down in the glass. Uncle Julio's, which has several Dallas locations, features the Baja Gold, a lime margarita mixed with Corona beer. Fuzzy's Taco Shop also has beergaritas, as well as the Katy Trail Ice House in Uptown.
