Irish Car Bombs — Photo courtesy of Kayone73/Flickr Drop it in and chug it down!
Those are the instruction for drinking an Irish Car Bomb. But what is it, exactly?
An almost-full pint of Guinness gets doctored with the addition of a serious shot of Bailey's Irish Cream . . . layered with Jameson Whiskey. The sweet taste of the Bailey's gets toned down by the whiskey, and complements the heavy base of Guinness. But fair warning: if you don't rapidly chug this drink the Bailey's will curdle and the taste will deteriorate to the point of being unpalatable.
A popular Boston drink - especially around St. Patrick's Day - this head-turner can be made by almost any bartender in town. (Wonderbar has a whole list of "Bombs" to choose from).
Bottoms up with this quirky Irish delight!
