10Best Explores Kid-Friendly Park City

  • Best Ski School: Deer Valley Resort

Thanks to the white, powdery snow, winter is Park City's peak season. All three Park City ski resorts offer excellent ski instruction, but Deer Valley Resort's ski school stands above the rest for teaching young beginners how to safely tackle the slopes.

  • Best Summer Activity: Hiking

The mountains surrounding Park City contain more than 400 miles of public trails, ideal for a family hike. Pack a picnic lunch in town before heading out and make a day out of it. In the summer months, let the ski lifts of Canyons, Park City and Deer Valley carry you up to the top so you can explore some higher altitude trails.

  • Best Winter Activity: Snowmobiling

When the kids – or you – need a break from the skis, head over to Summit Meadows Adventures to try one of Park City's best winter activities: snowmobiling. Experienced guides will lead you through the snowy alpine mountains just 10 minutes from historic downtown Park City for a family adventure you'll never forget.

  • Best All-Ages Après-Ski: Jupiter Bowl

Park City's après-ski scene isn't just for adults. For some family fun after sundown (or on a rainy afternoon), head to Jupiter Bowl for some bowling and arcade fun. Big screens throughout the facility broadcast all the big games, so you won't miss a moment.

  • Best for Toddlers & Young Children: Snow Tubing

Just because your little ones aren't quite ready to strap on a pair of skis, doesn't mean they have to miss out on the snowy Park City fun. Give snow tubing at Park City's Gorgoza Park. They've got a hill designated for toddler tubers, as well as three beginner lanes.

  • Best Family Restaurant: Grub Steak

With a Young Adults menu for kids under 14 and a children's menu for those under 10, even your pickiest eater will find something tasty at Grub Steak, a longtime Park City favorite. While the kids are munching on their favorites, you can enjoy the 45-item salad bar and wide selection of hand-cut steaks and seafood.

  • Best Event: Sundance Film Festival

While the most famous indie film festival is known primarily for its adult offerings, there's usually a few films suitable for older kids and teens. Plus, Main Street Park City is teeming with things to do, especially during this exciting time of year. Just be sure to check ratings of movies before you go to make sure they're age appropriate.
