Ann Arbor, Michigan
Susan Cain, author of “Quiet,” a best-selling book that explores introversion, loves Ann Arbor because, she says, it's "a hotbed for arts, culture and cafes–the perfect trifecta for introverts." With nearby University of Michigan, it has a studious feel and its quaint downtown beckons those to meander its streets at their own pace.
With the first Borders bookstore based in Ann Arbor, it’s a hub for book lovers, an activity that appeals to many introverts. But when it comes time to be social–and introverts are not by nature anti-social–there’s ample opportunity at coffee shops, museums and boutiques.
