Get your Ice On at the Ouray Ice Festival in Colorado

Colorado's Million Dollar Highway might present some challenges in January, but folks who are attracted to the Ouray Ice Festival won't even be phased. This world-class ice-climbing event is held in the Rocky Mountain village of Ouray, Colorado, which has its very own ice caves and Ice Park.  Events are held in and around Ice Park, which sits in the Uncompahgre Gorge.  It's a one-of-a-kind way to spend a January weekend.  Many of Ouray's motels have hot tubs, and nothing will feel better than a warm soak after participating in or watching this amazing cold-weather event. Don't leave town with checking out Ouray's world class mining museum: it details the colorful history of mining in the Rockies.
