If you don't meet Star-Lord at Epcot this summer, you'll run into dozens of incarnations at Megacon — Photo courtesy of MEGACON Orlando
Maybe you’ve been wearing your bath towel like a cape since you were a kid, pretending to fly. Maybe you’re a comic book fan searching for something akin to full immersion in the worlds you’ve come to love. Maybe you’re a mom or dad looking to rack up cool-parent points with the rugrats. The good news? You don’t have to risk a bite from a radioactive spider to feel that sublime, superhero synergy.
All of the above, this summer in particular, can be accomplished via a visit to Orlando. The City Beautiful has superheroics in spades this season. Here’s where to go to get a taste:
"Justice League: A Call for Heroes" | Madame Tussauds Orlando
3-D body scans and hundreds of measurements are used to create each figure, which can take up to 350 hours to complete — Photo courtesy of Madame Tussauds
This incredible new experience for superhero fans brings three new stars to the world-famous wax attraction for a limited time, and guests can get in on the action, marveling (wait, should that be DC-ing?) at the astonishing detail of these legendary characters – from their flawlessly recreated faces to their replica costumes and props.
"You have to see it to believe it!" says James Paulding, General Manager at Madame Tussauds Orlando. "[It’s] a blockbuster Madame Tussauds experience unlike any other, and the first of its kind in a greater transformation across our attraction to deliver live fame experiences that make guests the stars of their favorite stories…. Fans will be united with the League on the streets of Metropolis in an epic battle to save the world. Where else can you lift a gigantic helicopter with Superman?! Only at Madame Tussauds Orlando!"
Take stoic, heroic or even silly sidekick selfies with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman – and then explore the rest of this attraction, where famous people from inventors and artists to presidents and red-carpet celebrities are on hand for phenomenal photo-ops.
Neat extra: The exhibit will run at least through the end of 2018, but from May 21 – June 1, fans can follow the Bat Signal to the attraction (like, up in the sky!) to see the Batmobile in person along with the Justice League figures.

Disney/Pixar’s beloved superhero family returns to theaters nationwide on June 15 in Incredibles 2, but they’ll be taking over Tomorrowland starting May 25 with the premiere of the Incredible Tomorrowland Expo, which celebrates all things super!
Guests at Magic Kingdom can interact with characters such as Mr. Incredible, Frozone and other characters from both the original and new film – and for the first time meet Edna Mode, the hilarious superhero costume designer. Incredibles-themed décor and music will be omnipresent and a nightly "SUPER" dance party on the Rocket Tower Stage is a great place for would-be heroes to try out their most incredible moves.
Runs through Sept. 3.
"Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live!" | Epcot
A futuristic reversion to obsolete formats is on tap for Epcot this summer, with Star-Lord and Gamora as the hosts — Photo courtesy of The Walt Disney Company
Those Guardians’ mix tapes are admittedly amazing, so it’s no surprise they’ve inspired the folks at Disney to have Star-Lord himself, along with Gamora, take guests on a musical journey through space. The concert series – held at the America Gardens Theater at Epcot – will run five times daily from Jun. 9 through Aug. 19 and feature songs from both movie soundtracks.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
Still a fan favorite, this mind-blowing motion-based 3-D dark ride has guests soaring along with Spidey himself, scaling skyscrapers, fighting villains and winning the day!
The Incredible Hulk Coaster
Refurbished with new features and a smoother track in 2016, this thriller takes riders on a trip through Dr. Bruce Banner’s gamma-ray accelerator. And when we say "accelerator," we’re talking a high-speed blast into a zero-g roll! Whether you turn green or not depends on how well you do on state-of-the-art roller coasters.
Marvel Character Dinner
Feast with Marvel’s finest at Cafe 4, where Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm and Rogue are ready to inspire your tiny do-gooders to finish their veggies. Maybe. There are some things that are even beyond a superhero’s range.
They will, however, have a great time chatting, signing autographs and taking pictures. ($24.99 for kids 3-9; $49.99 for 10+).
Marvel Super Hero Island
It’s why Islands of Adventure is so packed with superhero fun! Here, visitors have the chance to meet Spider-Man, Storm, Rogue, Wolverine, Cyclops, Captain America and even villains like Dr. Doom and the Green Goblin.
