    Get on your Davy Crockett and Celebrate Texas Independence Day

    March 2 is a legal holiday in Texas, the day that Texas received its independence from Mexico.  Catch the Independence Day Parade in Austin on Saturday, March 3 or learn more about the history of the events at the Alamo in San Antonio.  Festivities abound across the state, including live battle reenactments.  Remember the Alamo!

    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania hosts the lavish Philadelphia International Flower Show March 4-11, where you can not only be amazed by over 60 talented professional designers' work, but also get ideas for your own home and garden.  Held at the Convention Center, it is the world's largest indoor exhibition.  Bring good walking shoes!

    You don't have to be Irish to join in the huge festivities on this biggest day of the year in Dublin.  The St. Patrick's Day Procession is a 5-day festival with half a million in attendance.  International bands take part in a grand parade and the pubs are definitely open.

  • Bock Beer Festival, Cincinnati

    Cincinnati on Tap for the Bock Beer Festival

    Ok, so we don't really need the high caloric nutrient-filled Bock beer to get us through the Lent fasting period as much as the early Monks did.  But Cincinnati, with its rich brewing heritage, and the city's Bock Beer Festival (first weekend in March) is worth digesting.  The event kicks off with a parade starting at Cincinnati's oldest saloon, Arnold's, and continues with plenty of food, entertainment and of course, lots of delicious dark beer.
