    Take a guided tour through Shelburne Farms. Spend an hour and a half getting the lay of the land before you set off on foot. With so much to see and do, the small price will be well worth it. You'll stop at the historic buildings, and key features of the landscape while enjoying a some time off your feet.

    Get to Know Farm Friends

    The Brown Swiss beauties not only call Shelburne Farms their home, they are the source of the milk that is used to make their award winning cheese. Found grazing the property year round, dining on the sun drenched pastures that provide the sustenance that enhances the flavor of the cheese made here, these cows are a sight to be seen. Enjoy an interactive milking experience at the Children's Farm Yard or catch a glimpse as you tour the grounds.

    Shelburne Farms Farmhouse, Artisan Cheddar

    The farmhouse, artisan cheddars created at Shelburne Farms integrate the farm's own resources from start to finish. From the Brown Swiss Cows who graze on the sun drenched pastures to the hay cultivated for their comsuption durning winter months, Shelburne Farms leaves nothing to chance. Sample some of their award winning cheddar upon arrival at the welcome center, in the food served on site, or while exploring the Farm Barn; you can't escape a taste.

  • Market Garden Bounty

    Grab a Market Garden Lunch at the Farm Cart

    When you find yourself looking for a bit of sustenance, but lacking the desire for a sit down meal, make your way to the Farm Cart for a plate of Shelburne Farms fare. You'll find plates filled with produce picked in their Market Garden and cheese made a few feet away. Savor every bite while sitting on the lawn or at one of the picnic tables set out for your comfort.

  • Making friends with a lamb

    Check out the Children's Farm Yard

    Kids go crazy for the Children's Farm Yard. Here they can get up close and personal with the animals. Enjoy a stroll around the scenic grounds while you get acquainted with the wildlife. Wait around for the daily Chicken Parade, milk a cow, or brush the horses and donkey. Inside the Children's Farm Yard is a room for exploration. Little ones will flip for the fun farm games inside. Ride the tractor, or do some role playing.

  • Walk a Trail

    Take a Hike

    With many walking trails on site you can explore the "back roads" of Shelburne Farms as you hike your way around. Grab a map, a comfy pair of shoes and set to it. You may come across the stick ball field or find other hidden spots along the way.

  • A bite by the lake

    Upscale Alfresco Dining

    Make time for a full meal at the Inn Restaurant. This upscale spot is famous for its farm to table fare, much of which is grown right here. Building their menu around what's being harvested in their Market Gardens, other area farms, and from what they produce, you'll have a truly fresh plate of food in front of you. A patio seat provides eye popping views of the gardens, Lake Champlain, and the Adirondack Mountains. Be seated before sunset and watch the sun melt into the lake.

  • Inn at Night

    Retire for the Night at the Inn

    After a long day of enjoying all that Shelburne Farms has to offer, retire to the Inn. Kids can play in the third floor playroom, while you cozy up with a good book in the library, chat in the common room, or relax in the privacy of your room before dimming the lights and enjoying the quiet that engulfs the Inn. You won't find many distractions here.
