Featuring over 1800 different types of beers from 240 brewers and from across 80 different countries, the International Berliner Beer festival, now in its 16th year, is easily one of the largest festivals of its type in the world. The festival stretches from Frankfurter Tor to Karl-Marx-Allee, just over a full mile, and encompasses food, music across 18 different stages, and, of course, plenty of beer.
The festival runs from August 3-5, so it could make for an ideal stop-over if you're tramping around Europe for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
