When luxury boutique hotel brand W Hotels recently opened the doors to the W Singapore – Sentosa Island, all eyes were on the swimming pool of this stylish contemporary hotel.
This 1,338 square meter free-form outdoor pool is straight out of a millionaire's fantasy - lined with palm trees and boasting views out over the yachts of the adjacent marina. It even benefits from a lush sea breeze.
If you get there early, you may be lucky enough to bag yourself a private cabana, complete with iPad, iPod and mist fan. If you miss out on the private cabana, fear not – there is also a choice of sunloungers and sun-shaded hammocks lining the periphery and all guests are treated to underwater music while swimming, courtesy of the 24 underwater speakers.
This little slice of paradise is also home to one of Singapore’s only swim-up pool bars. The über-stylish and funky ‘WET’ bar, with its decking protruding out into the swimming pool, is littered with artsy lounge furniture and dishes up a tempting selection of creative cocktails and international light bites.
Night owls will be pleased to know that the pool is open 24 hours, for when you’re in need of a midnight dip.
The W Singapore - Sentosa Cove debuted in September 2012, with 240 sea and marina facing guest rooms. From ‘Wonderful’ to ‘Extreme WOW’, all rooms and suites feature custom-made furnishings and W’s signature amenities, and cutting-edge technology including mood lighting, 42” LED HD TVs, iPod docking stations and Bose sound systems.
