Garden by the Sea
Visitors love the bright colors and the local art and paintings that adorn the walls at Garden by the Sea, which is tucked away in hillside on the outskirts of Cruz Bay. As a bonus, the B&B is just steps from Frank Bay Beach.

Renovations in 2010 resulted in rooms that feature rainfall showerheads, queen-size pillowtop beds, free wireless internet, flat-screen satellite TV, mini-fridges and individually controlled a/c. The penthouse suite also has a full kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances and poured concrete countertops, 12-foot beamed cathedral ceilings, a double futon sofa and one additional sofa.
Karen worked for several years as a newspaper reporter and copy editor before becoming a travel writer. She worked for renowned travel expert Peter Greenberg before going freelance, and now edits a website about African travel. Over the last two decades Karen has visited 129 cities in 30 countries and lived in the UK and South Africa. Highlights of her travels include hiking on a glacier in France, swimming with tiger rays in Mexico, getting lost on the Metro in Moscow, and roaming the Negev desert in Israel. She enjoys photography, scuba diving, and eating ceviche.
