American craft beer fans just got some great news. The world's first craft beer hotel, The DogHouse, recently got the green light and is expected to open in Columbus, Ohio in September 2018.
The hotel, a crowdfunded project from the Scottish brewery BrewDog, will sit adjacent to the brand new sour beer brewing facility set to open later in 2017.
So what exactly is a craft beer hotel? To start, every room will have the award-winning Punk IPA on tap and a beer fridge in the shower.
Some lucky brew-lovers will quite literally be bathing in beer; guests who splurge on a luxury suite will be treated to a hot tub filled with the brewer's signature brew.
The spa will feature beer-centric treatments, and breakfasts, lunches and dinners will be infused and paired with craft beer.
“Beer buffs around the world have been crying out for a beer hotel since we first floated the idea on social media, so we’re going to kick-start the most ambitious project we’ve ever planned, all with the backing of our global community of beer fans,” said James Watt, BrewDog co-founder and CEO.
"The DogHouse will be a mecca for those craft beer geeks seeking a vacation with a difference. Every single part of your stay at The DogHouse will be absolutely dominated by hops, malt and incredible beer. Forget Disneyland, this is the new happiest place on Earth."
