No matter what day of the week you decide to go, you can be sure that Aiko will be busy. The open and spacious restaurant provides a comfortable place to sit and chat over your meal whilst enjoying a delicious cocktail from the extensive beverage list. Central to the restaurant is the bar and grill area which means that from your table, you can watch the masterful chef at work, cooking up delicious meals on the grill or rolling your sushi.
The food may not be the cheapest in the city, but it's not overly extravagant either and you certainly get what you pay for. For lovers of really fantastic sushi, you'll receive the freshest fish and ingredients, expertly hand-crafted. On the menu you'll find all the usual Japanese favourites, including of course, a fantastic variety of sushi options. But don't panic if raw fish isn't for you, the grill menu also provides plenty of options for those who may prefer a cooked meal. The staff are friendly and attentive and speak perfect English. Worth noting is the 50% off 'Happy Hour' on Nigiri, Maki and Inside-Out sushi dishes until 11pm each night.Spicy Salmon and Rainbow inside out rolls from Aiko — Photo courtesy of Rachel Beckley
Average prices range from around 2-10 euro for sushi options, 4-6 euro for cocktails and long drinks (beer and wine slightly less) and 10-15 euro for Tapanyaki options and Sashimi platters.
Situated just off of the intersection of Rosenthaler Platz in Mitte, Aiko couldn't be in a better location. For those traveling by U-bahn, the Rosenthaler Platz station exit is just meters from the restaurant and the fantastic location means that finding somewhere for after dinner drinks is simple.
