Where else would you expect to find a museum (operated for 25 years by true surfing visionaries with an unmatched passion for the sport) dedicated to the history and future of surfing? Huntington Beach–also known as Surf City USA–is home to the International Surfing Museum, a non-profit organization that celebrates surfing in a variety of unique ways. Surf City Splash, Surfin' Sundays, a monthly art Walk, book signings with noted surfer/writers, and a host of charitable events are all just the tip of the iceberg–suffice to say, the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum is plugged into the culture and is something of a titan in the community.
Expect no shortage of fanfare from the museum as it marks the occasion of the US Open of Surfing later this summer.
