Thinking about a biking vacation? Few towns in the world are better suited to cycling holidays than Moab, Utah. Located 4.5 hours from the Salt Lake International Airport and 6 hours from the Denver International Airport, the town is easy to reach. With a warm, dry and exceptionally sunny climate, as well as plenty of topographical relief, the Moab area can be biked in any season.
Completely tourist-friendly, the town itself has dozens upon dozens of hotels, as well as an utter abundance of restaurants serving everything from sushi to Mexican. Best of all, it has its very own brewpub, The Moab Brewery.
Mountain Biking
Moab is one of the most famous mountain biking destinations in the United States - and with excellent reason. Depending on how you divide the trails, you can conservatively claim that the Moab area has at least 80 distinct mountain biking routes. Though Moab is most famous for its Slickrock Trail, it has hundreds of miles of buffed singletrack trail of all difficulty levels. Furthermore, if you need to rent a bike, the town has more than half a dozen bike rental shops, and just as many guide services.

Road Biking
Any road biker would be tickled pink to be in a town of Moab’s climate. Not only does this weather make the riding pleasant nearly any time of year, it also renders the roads around Moab quite nice - as the pavement undergoes much less weather-induced destruction typical of colder climates with freeze-thaw cycles. If you happen to visit Moab in the fall, you can join up for the Moab Century Tour and enjoy one of the most scenically diverse organized road rides in the country. Or you can ride the route by yourself any time of year.
