It's St. Patrick's Day, which for you could mean just any other Saturday, or it could mean you're joining the hordes of partiers guzzling down glittery green beer and preparing for a Spire-of-Dublin-sized hangover, or maybe you're all grown up and have decided to pay tribute to Ireland the classy way.

There are plenty of delicious boozy drinks that have an Irish heritage and a lack of food coloring. You can't go wrong with a classic souped up Irish coffee, and if you really want to get fancy you can make the Rising Phoenix cocktail, courtesy of the Dead Rabbit. Of course, a simple Guinness and a shot of Jameson is always a great idea.

But for this St. Patty's Day, we recommend this iced coffee – courtesy of Pamela Wiznitzer of Seamstress NYC – spiked with Irish cream and mint liqueur. It'll wake you up and give you the boozy kick you need with one (Blarney) stone. Just please, whatever you do, resist the urge to dye it green.

  • 1.5 oz Irish cream
  • 1 oz Brancamenta
  • 3 oz cold coffee


  1. Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a glass.
