Health-conscious people seem to be obsessed with both apple cider vinegar and turmeric these days. Proponents of apple cider vinegar sing its praises as a cure-all that does everything from enhancing weight loss to regulating blood pressure.

Have digestive problems? Drink some apple cider vinegar. Pimples giving you trouble? Rub some apple cider vinegar on it. Dry scalp? Just shampoo yourself with apple cider vinegar from now on. (We're kidding about that last one. Don't do that).

Turmeric, meanwhile, is considered a powerful anti-inflammatory with antioxidants that can prevent or treat a number of symptoms and diseases.

But if you're not a tablespoon-or-three-of-apple-cider-vinegar kind of person, make this tonic – courtesy of Vermont Village – instead. It's the best of two worlds. It's got all the health benefits of apple cider vinegar and turmeric, but with the fun/relaxing properties of alcohol.

  • Turmeric sipping vinegar
  • Vodka
  • Maple syrup
  • Lemon zest peel
  • Seltzer water
  • Ice


  1. Fill a double shot glass 1/4 full with turmeric sipping vinegar, and the fill the rest of the glass with vodka.
  2. Add 1tsp of maple syrup (or more if you want it sweeter), and stir well.
  3. Fill the bottom of a glass tumbler with ice cubes.
  4. Pour mix over ice and top off with seltzer water and lemon zest.
