On November 10, one of the nation's most recognizable symbols of the holiday season began its journey to New York: the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. This 94-foot-tall Norway spruce will soon be wrapped in five miles of colored lights and topped with a Swarovski crystal star.

When the tree is officially lit on November 30, it will be the second tallest tree in the history of the ceremony. The tallest? A 100-footer from Connecticut used in 1999.

The tree will remain lit until 9pm ET on January 7, 2017.
