Premium Economy is essentially a new breed of travel class caught somewhere between economy and business. Many airlines have introduced this mid-class but have opted to make it just economy with some bonuses. Air New Zealand however, appears to have focused more heavily on the 'premium' than the 'economy' and has created a new luxurious travel class, minus the hefty business or first class price tags.
The first notable difference are the seats. Not just marginally roomier, Air New Zealand's Premium Economy offers the 'space seat'- a modern design of chair which is not only more spacious and comfortable but also allows the seat in front to recline without intruding on your space. The look and concept is just what you would expect of business class, as is the service.
The new Premium Economy is ideal for couples who want luxury and their own private space without the excessive additional costs. Central seats are in pairs, designed with couples in mind- not only do they allow you to relax privately, they also convert into an intimate dining setting so couples can face each other to enjoy their meals together.
Speaking of meals, those offered in Premium Economy surpass expectations of your average aeroplane dinner. Again, just like those offered in business and first classes, premium economy offers a menu of delicious meals accompanied by outstanding New Zealand wines. There is also the option to order snacks direct from your entertainment screen should you feel a bit peckish between meals.
The perfect holiday really does start from the moment you leave the house, so why not make the journey just as pleasant as the destination. Travel in luxury and style with Air New Zealands new Premium Economy class and enjoy the ideal start and end to a romantic getaway with your loved one.
