Is there anything Google can’t do? They’ve given us Google Earth; created the world’s leading smartphone operating system (Android); and invented the driverless car. Oh yeah, plus that whole search engine thing that makes “Google” a part of our everyday vocabulary. Don’t understand what we mean? Google it!
Now, however, it seems they’ve got a different sort of project up their sleeves: they want to restore the world’s largest airship hanger, which sits in the middle of Silicon Valley. It's a product of the 1930s, when the United States needed a place to store its naval airship, the USS Macon. A MASSIVE hangar named Hangar One was constructed: 198 feet high and covering eight acres inside . . . making it one of the world’s largest free-standing structures.
It is SO BIG that fog sometimes forms near the ceiling.
In case you're wondering, an airship is a “type of aerostat or 'lighter-than-air aircraft' that can be steered and propelled through the air using rudders and propellers or other thrust mechanisms.” It's a lot like a blimp.
Unfortunately, nobody really uses airships anymore, and Hangar One kinda just got ignored for many years. (It’s even been leaking toxic chemicals and asbestos into the surface water). Now owned by NASA,the hangar has become what amounts to a white elephant requiring a $33,000,000 renovation.

Google to the rescue? Top executives have put forth an offer . . . under one condition. They need space to park their eight private jets. The offer has not yet been accepted, but Google is eagerly awaiting an answer.
Darn, life must be tough with all those private jets and nowhere to park them.
