The Driftwood Room at Portland's renowned Hotel deLuxe is nothing short of historic. Everything about the iconic lounge is prominently mid-Century, from the decor to the expertly made cocktails. And speaking of expertly made cocktails, thanks to the hotel's new Shaken, Not Stirred package, you too can become an expert cocktail maker.
Portland is all about the word "craft" when it comes to beverages–a mecca for craft beer enthusiasts, the city is also at the forefront of a veritable craft cocktail revolution, and no where is this in evidence more than the Driftwood Room. With the new Shaken, Not Stirred package (starting at $249/night) guests receive luxurious overnight lodging, $25 credit for room service, and, most importantly, a hands-on, immersive one hour class in cocktail making. The classes take place at noon (Friday and Saturday only) and include appetizer pairings. Each class kicks off with a lesson on one of the Driftwood Room's spectacular champagne cocktails, and there's an emphasis on how to mix craft cocktails throughout.
Of course we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that you do, in fact, get to drink the fruit of your labors. Who said learning can't be fun?
