Bryan Miller

Bryan is a veteran journalist who has worked for a number of national newspapers and magazines. Before taking up food writing he apprenticed in the kitchen of a French bistro in Connecticut.  Five years later, he joined The New York Times as a food writer.  From 1984-1994, he served as the paper’s restaurant critic–an endeavor that called for dining out 5,123 times, not counting the office cafeteria. On his beat he has filed travel stories from around the world.  The author of 11 books, he is the recipient of several James Beard Foundation honors, including its Lifetime Achievement Award.
