For Shonalee Johnson, growing up in The Bahamas meant that if she wanted to see the world, she’d have to jump on a plane. She started exploring the 700 islands in her Bahamian “backyard”.
By age 10, she’d seen Hawaii, California, Florida, Illinois, Ontario, Jamaica, Haiti, Mexico and Cayman Islands. At 15, she moved to Canada for high school and later college in Florida and Georgia to study journalism and PR.
The island girl lives with her husband, Derek and son, Evan in Nassau. She works in PR and as a freelance writer.
