Try these 5 deliciously different regional burgers

You’ve probably heard of a green chile cheeseburger, but what about a slugburger or Frita Cubana? Here are five beloved burger styles that you should try.

Butter burger

This burger from Milwaukee is exactly what it sounds like: a burger topped with (or, in some cases, filled with) a ridiculous amount of butter.

Steamed Cheeseburger

Connecticut’s native hamburger is topped with cheese and steamed to gooey perfection.

Carolina-style burger

Side dishes are better on a bun; at least that’s the case with this burger topped with chili, onions, coleslaw and mustard.

Frita Cubana

A proper Frita Cubana is seasoned with a blend of smoked paprika, cumin and pepper, and topped with a pile of crispy fried potato sticks, diced onions and ketchup, served on a Cuban roll.

Slugburger

Mississippi’s slugburger isn’t made from the garden pest, but instead by mixing potato flakes, flour or soybean grits into the ground beef.
